No one has filed nomination paper for any of the six Lok Sabha seats in Odisha on the first day of filing nomination for the third phase election, to be held on April 23.
However, one candidate in each of the three Assembly seats- Pipili, Bhubaneswar (North) and Athmallick filed their nomination papers, Chief Electoral office (CEO) sources here said.
The nomination for third phase elections to six Lok Sabha and 42 Assembly constituency in Odisha commenced today.
The six Lok Sabha seats going to poll in third phase are — Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Puri and Bhubaneswar.
The filing of nomination will continue till April 4 and the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be made on April 5 and the withdrawal of the candidate has been fixed on April 8 next.
Chief electoral office sources said, so far more than 7.11 lakh posters and hoardings put on public places and 70,393 posters and hoardings put on in private places violating the Model Code of Conduct have been removed.
It said so far 12,287 election related complaints received through state level voters help line and c-vigil APP have been solved and 183 complainants received at the state level control room were forwarded to district level for their solution. (UNI)
