Odisha team wins All India NCC Yachting Regatta held in Lake Chilika

Chilika: The week-long All India NCC Yachting Regatta ended in Lake Chilika today . The competition was organised by the NCC Directorate, Odisha chapter.The Odisha team won the competition while the Punjab team was runners-up. An awards ceremony was held in the afternoon. Ajay Kumar Mahajan, NCC DG Brigadier, was the chief guest and presented the award to the winning Odisha team.

NCC Deputy Director General Odisha, Commodore Somen Banerjee congratulated all the participants and also thanked Commodore Pradeep Kumar, Commanding Officer INS Chilka for providing all the necessary support for smooth conduct of the event. The competition was reportedly held at the Indian Naval Training Center on Lake Chilika. A total of 101 NCC cadets from 17 NCC directorates across India participated in the competition.Which included 51 girls and 50 boys.

The complete Regatta was successfully co-ordinated by Commanding Officer 4 (O) NCC Bhawanipatna, Lieutenant Commander V Ravi Jaddu and his team under the guidance of Colonel Amitabh Roy, Group Commander, Sambalpur..However, Ranjit Rautaray, a national level player and coach from Banpur Block Borigaon, coached all the cadets of the winning Odisha NCC team.
