Oppn parties laud airstrike on JeM camps in Balakot

Former union minister Sharad Pawar and other opposition leaders praised the airstrike on terror outfit JeM camps in Balkot across the LoC by Indian Air Force.

Earlier this morning, Chief Ministers of Delhi, West Bengal and Karnataka — Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, HD Kumaraswamy – and Congress president Rahul Gandhi lauded the strike.

“IAF also means India’s Amazing Fighters. Jai Hind”, Ms Banerjee tweeted.

Applauding the IAF, Mr Pawar tweeted, “Solute to Indian Air Force for giving befitting reply to the terrorists operating from PoK”.

“My salute to the Indian Air Force. Jain Jawan… Jai Hind”, Mr Kumaraswamy tweeted and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “My salute to Indian Air Force for carrying out surgical strike 2 on terror camps. A big lesson for Pakistan about how to handle terror groups in their own backyard”.

Congratulating IAF, -Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha said, “Congratulations to our brave Air Force for a brilliant operation across the LoC”.

Praising the bravery of IAF pilots, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, “We solute bravery of our pilots and Air Force. We are blessed and proud of our forces. Jai Hind”.

Congress party also applauded IAF and said while tweeting Mr Gandhi’s statement, that “We salute the IAF for their consistent and determined effort to keep Indians safe. Jai Hind”.

Earlier in the day, Congress president also applaud the airstrike by the Air Force and said, “I salute the pilots of the IAF”.

Echoing the same sentiments, Mr Kejriwal also praised the bravery of Indian Air Force pilots for the bombing across LoC.

‘I salute the bravery of Indian Air Force pilots who have made us proud by striking terror targets in Pakistan,’ Mr Kejriwal tweeted.

On Tuesday early morning, Indian Air Force struck the terror bases in Pakistan and destroyed at least three terror camps run by Jaish-e-Moammed, which is responsible for the deadly terror attack at Pulwama, which claimed 40 CRPF jawans.

Sources said 12 Mirage jets carrying 1000 kg of bombs dropped it at various vulnerable camps.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
