The Opposition on Monday raised an uproar in the Rajya Sabha on the accident involving family of Unnao rape survivor, forcing adjournment of the House till 1200 hrs. Soon after Ram Gopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party raised the issue of the death of Unnao rape survivor’s lawyer, and the victim being critical from an accident as a Zero Hour mention, members of the various Opposition parties rose up in protest.
Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu ‘s pleas that Home Minister would respond in the matter fell on deaf ears as the members continued with the uproar, forcing the chairman to adjourn the House till 1200 hrs.
The Unnao survivor and her family met with an accident on Sunday in Rae Bareli, that left two of her family members dead. Both the Congress and the Samajwadi Party have alleged that Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who allegedly raped the 15-year-old girl in 2017, was involved in the accident.
