Pala Bypoll: BJP picks Hari as NDA candidate

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kottayam district president N Hari was chosen as the candidate of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to contest in the ensuing byelection for Pala Assembly constituency. The candidature of Hari was declared by the leaders of BJP at its working committee meeting held in New Delhi late last night, party sources said here on Tueday. The byelection will be held on September 23. With the declaration of Hari, the candidates of United Democratic Front (UDF) , Left Democratic Front (LDF) and BJP have been finalised.

Hari, who entered politics through Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), was the state secretary of BJP, district president of Yuva Morcha and BJP district general secretary. He was a member of the Pallikkathode Panchayat for over 10 years. (UNI)
