Pearl Harbor: US sailor kills 2, shoots self

Washington, Dec 5: A US Navy sailor killed two people and wounded other before shooting self at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam near Honolulu, Hawaii (JBPHH) at 0600 hrs IST on Thursday. The JBPHH said its security forces had responded to a reported shooting at the shipyard, which occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday.

A statement issued by the base said the incident around 2:30 pm, prompting a lockdown of the facility for more than an hour which was lifted around 4 p.m. “The shooter has been identified as a US Sailor,” the base said on Twitter. “The sailor reportedly shot and injured three Department of Defense civilian workers before shooting themself.”

The incident occurred just three days before a remembrance of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Hawaii Gov.
