Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Edamon-Kochi power highway, enabling the State to receive power from any part of the country through its 400 KV transmission network.
Speaking on the occasion on Monday, the Chief Minister said the project, completed by Powergrid Corporation, could help reduce transmission loss.
Sources said the 400 kV power transmission network had increased the State’s power import capability by 800 MW.
The 148-km Edamon-Kochi line has 447 towers and passes through Kollam (22 km), Pathanamthitta (47 km), Kottayam (51 km), and Ernakulam (28 km). (UNI)
