As more than 26 lakh population reeled under floods in Assam and the situation showed no signs of respite, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today assured all help from the Centre to deal with the situation.
In a telephonic discussion with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Modi took stock of the flood situation in the state and the prevailing condition.
Sonowal apprised the Prime Minister of the latest situation emanating from the recent spate of flood in Barak and Brahmaputra valley.
He also briefed the Prime Minister about the relief, rescue and rehabilitation work unleashed by the State government in view of the flood.
Modi assured all help and cooperation to the State to deal with the situation.
At least 11 people have been killed in this second wave of flood in the state so far, with over 26 lakh people in 28 districts of the state affected.
