Indian National Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he described as drama surrounding the announcement of ‘Mission Shakti’ which was said to have propelled the nation into the big league of space powers.
In an apparent jibe at the Premier for creating ‘drama’ around Mission Shakti,’ Mr Gandhi tweeted,’I would also like to wish the PM a very happy World Theatre Day.’
The comment by Mr Gandhi came after immense suspense over the PM’s tweet on Wednesday morning that he would make an important announcement at 1145 hrs.
The PM’s tweet generated buzz on the nature of the statement.
While many speculated that the PM’s address would be related to security, some said the announcement would be on steps to be taken by the Government to counter the announcement made by Mr Gandhi that Rs 72,000 per annum would be given to the poorest 20 per cent families under the proposed Minimum Income Guarantee scheme if the Congress come to power in the Lok Sabha elections.
