Rahul pleads 'not guilty', gets bail in RSS defamation case

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was on Thursday granted bail by a local court here in a defamation case filed by an RSS worker over his remarks allegedly linking journalist Gauri Lankesh’s killing with “BJP-RSS ideology”.
The leader, who pleaded ”not guilty” before the court , was granted bail on surety of Rs 15,000.
Former MP Eknath Gaikwad gave the surety for the Gandhi scion.
Complainant Dhrutiman Joshi had also filed similar complaints against UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and CPM leader Sitaram Yechury, which were later nixed.
In his petition, Mr Joshi had said within 24 hours after the Lankesh killing, Gandhi had allegedly blamed the RSS and its ideology for the murder.
