Police have arrested 62 persons and recovered around Rs 44, 000 and 28 mobiles during raids conducted on gambling dens at various places in Mayurbhanja district last night.
DGP Office sources here today said the raids were conducted under the special supervision of IICs/OICs of Police Stations and recovered Rs 43,960 in cash and 28 mobile phones from their possessions.
Police have also registered 16 cases in this connection.
Out of 16 cases while 5 cases have been registered at Baripada Sadar Sub-division, one case at Betnoti Sub-Division, one at Udala Sub-Division and nine cases have been registered at Rairangpur Sub-Division. The gambling raids were conducted as per the direction of SP Mayurbhanj. (UNI)
