Claiming that the Mahagathbandhan will sweep the polls like the bypolls last year, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has compared the BJP’s Rs 15 lakh sop promised in 2014 with Congress announcement of Rs 72,000 per annum to 20 per cent poor of the country and claimed that only the Samajwadi package would be best for the poor in the country.
However, he did not make any direct comment on Congress president Rahul Gandhi over the matter and just said his party was studying the announcement made by the Congress on Monday.
Mr Yadav addressing a press conference after Nishad Party, and Janwadi Party( Socialist) announced to join the Mahagathbandhan of SP-BSP-RLD in the Lok Sabha polls with Rashtriya Samanta Party announcing to support the alliance here on Tuesday, said SP during its regime in UP had given package to poor particularly in Bundelkhand which was a great success.
” The Samajwadi Pension and Lohia awas were a big hit and we can promise that if the alliance comes to power then we will give a package for poor which will empower them,” he said.
However, talking about the free toilets given to the poor in the country, he said both Congress and BJP did not provide water in these toilets making it a total failure.
“I am happy that whenever we needed support both the parties– Nishad Party and Janwadi Party( Socialist) and their workers have helped us in taking our Samajwadi movement forward.Though we couldn’t understand what went wrong in Gorakhpur bypolls. I am sure our Gathbandhan will bring the biggest change in UP. People who speak about 74 seats will have to rethink their figures,” Mr Yadav said.
He said the BJP has only two issue before them– opposition and chowkidar.” Still they haven’t got support from people. People are waiting to cast their vote. Everyone is waiting for their voting day,” he said.
The SP president also raised the issue of conspiracy to end reservation to the dalits and OBCs by the BJP.”Our team is assessing the conspiracies to take away the education and employment from the youth of the country. Our team is also assessing about the schemes for poor,” he said.
Dr Sanjay Nishad ,president of the Nishad Party along with his son Pravin Nishad, who won the Gorakhpur bypolls, was present in the press meet.
Dr Sanjay Nishad alleged that Constitution is in danger, youth and farmers future are also in threat.
” People voted for a jumlebaz party due to their false promises. We will repeat history of Phulpur, Kairana and Gorakhpur and will once again register win,” he said while demanded that census should be declared by government and reservation should be given accordingly.
He further said Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath promised many things for Nishad community but nothing was done. However it was Akhilesh Yadav who issued government order for Nishads and ordered to include Nishad in SC community from OBC, he said.
Dr Sanjay Chauhan , of Janwadi Party( Socialist) said the BJP made SC and OBCs fight among themselves to take their votes.
“If you look at figures it will be revealed that who is eating the right of backwards. The recent jobs in UP had no or minimum reservation for the backwards. It is a conspiracy to end reservation for the backwards by the BJP. If they really want to give our right they should give reservation on the basis of fresh census. I am sure that the way Akhilesh Yadav is giving respect to all the backwards, he will definitely win,” Dr Chauhan said. (UNI)
