The Supreme Court on Tuesday disposed of a plea challenging the appointment of M Nageswara Rao as interim Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
A two-judge bench of the Apex Court, headed by Justice Arun Mishra said no further interference is required as the relief has already been granted by the appointment of the full time Director of the probe agency.
Rishi Kumar Shukla, a 1983-batch IPS officer, took charge of the probe agency as full-fledged director on February 4.
The Top Court also refused to pass any order on ensuring transparency in the matter of appointment.
The NGO, Common Cause, had moved the Apex Court challenging the appointment of Rao. (UNI)
