SC seeks status report on mediation proceedings in Ayodhya case by July 18

SC

The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the meditation panel, headed by Justice (Retd) FMI Khalifulla, to submit progress report on the meditation by July 18.

A five-judge constitution bench, headed Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, said that it would commence hearing of the case from July 25 if the meditation panel expresses its inability to resolve the dispute.

The parties on the Hindu side submitted that there was no progress in the mediation and asked the same to be stopped.

The parties on the minority community side submitted that there was a good progress in the meditation.
