The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday slipped by 182.04 points to 37,215.20 in the opening trade, as selling was seen across the board. The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too dropped by 48 points to 11,037.40. The Sensex registered intra day high and low at 37,349.71 and 37.218.26 points, respectively. The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,072.95 and 10,999.40 points, respectively.
The sectoral indices like Materials, Energy, Finance, Industrials and Consumer Durable declined in early trade. The losers were Axis Bank by 4.11 per cent to Rs 677.50, Tech Mahindra by 3.40 per cent to Rs 618.50, Bharti Airtel by 2.17 per cent to Rs 338.10 and Bajaj Finance by 1.99 per cent to Rs 3185.35.
The gainers were Hero MotoCorp by 3.63 per cent to Rs 2341.30, Yes Bank by 3.60 per cent to Rs 89.20, IndusInd Bank by 2.76 per cent to Rs 1373.80 and Tata Steel by 2.24 per cent to Rs 424. (UNI)
