BJP president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday congratulated former President Pranab Mukherjee on being conferred with country’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna. “Congratulations to former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjeeji on being conferred with Bharat Ratna. He is a leader par excellence who has served the nation with utmost dedication and commitment,” Mr Shah said in a tweet.
“Pranab da‘s knowledge and experience has benefited the nation greatly,” he wrote. BJP leader and former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu also complimented Mr Mukherjee and maintained that the former President has rendered a “dedicated selfless service to nation through various means”. “Great statesman, moving encyclopedia on parliamentary democracy, political economy, many more,” he tweeted adding “I have immensely benefitted from his kindness in last 25 years”.
