State BJP leaders SLAM arrest of journalist over allegation of uploading of a fake letter in social media

The State BJP leaders including former ministers Suresh Kumar and Aravinda Limbavali have criticised the state police for having arrested a journalist and the party sympathizer, Hemanth Kumar here on Saturday.

Speaking to newsmen, after meeting the State Police chief, Neelamani S Raju, and petitioned against the arrest of Hemanth Kumar by the CID police in connection with the posting of an alleged fake letter related to a demand for separate religion status for Lingayaths, accused that “Police are acting at the behest of the Home minister M B Patil”.

Charging that CID police, had arrested Hemanth Kumar, with a prejudiced mind, the BJP leaders had demanded an immediate release of the journalist.

Stating that the Home minister M B Patil, is interrupting in the functioning of the state police the BJP leaders had said that “the police are yet to respond to a complaint lodged against the former MLA,

Gopalakrishna for having making provocative speech against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi”.

The BJP leaders, had also visited the CID headquarters and registered their protest against the

arrest of the party sympathizer Hemanth Kumar.
