Sumit Nagal loses to Griekspoor in finals of Banja Luka Challenger

Sixth seeded India’s Sumit Nagal lost to Netherlands’ Tallon Griekspoor in the final of Banja Luka Challenger 2019 in Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina. Twenty two years old, Jhajjar (Haryana) player lost the final in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 in a 91-minute contest on Sunday.

Sumit Nagal, ranked 174th, saved 16 break points out of 21 and won one break point out of five. Twenty three years old Griekspoor, ranked 187th, saved four break points out of five and won five out of 21 break points. Nagal’s who hit the headlines during the US Open, which was his first Grand Slam appearance and snatch the first set against tennis giant Roger Federer, committed three double faults and could win 56 total points.

Griekspoor served one ace and committed one double fault and won a total of 74 points. Both players kept their first service 60 per cent in. Nagal won 14 out of 33 points on his first service and 16 out of 21 points on his second service. Griekspoor won 20 out of 28 points on his first service and 12 out of 19 points on his second service. Sumit Nagal earned € 3,650. and 48 ATP points. Winner Griekspoor got a check for € 6,190 and 80 ATP points who had won his maiden Challenger in Bengaluru in 2017, collected 48 ATP points and € 3,650. The champion pocketed 80 points and € 6,190.
