Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Waseem Rizvi on Friday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the landslide victory of the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections and claimed it to be a befitting reply to the ‘Pakistan’ supported leaders who coined ‘Chowkidar Chor hai’ slogans.
Mr Rizvi also withdrew his threat to commit suicide at the disputed site in Ayodhya , if BJP failed to come to power at the centre.
‘I have withdrawn my decision to commit suicide in Ayodhya as Modi has returned to power giving a new lease of life for the construction of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya,” he said in a letter issued to the media here on Friday.
Before the elections, Mr Rizvi had announced that he will commit suicide near the Ram temple in Ayodhya if BJP dis not come to power at the Centre.
Claiming that the BJP’s record victory is the win for the entire country, he said the people rejected the forces who were supporting the Pakistan terror outfits and raising the slogan of ‘Chowkidar chor hai’.
Mr Rizvi said that now the BJP government should pave the way for the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya at the same place where Lord Ram had taken birth. “Every Hindustani except the fanatics are supporting the temple’s construction,’ he claimed.
