New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday cast her vote at NP Co-Ed Senior Secondary School at Aurangzeb Lane here.
UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi also exercised their adult franchise at the same polling booth. Mr Gandhi was accompanied by former Delhi Congress Chief Ajay Maken while Ms Gandhi by former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit.
On being asked for a sound byte, Ms Swaraj said, “No bite, just vote.”
Talking to reporters here, Mr Gandhi said, “There is no big figth. It’s a contest between reality and falsehood. We are on the side of reality and we will win this election. Mr Modi has decimated the Indian economy. The major issues on which this country is contesting include unemployment, demonetisation, GST and politics of hatred initiated by the BJP.”
Vice Chief of Indian Army Lt Gen D Anbu exercised his franchise at a polling booth in Delhi Cantt.
Along with six other states of the country, polling to seven Lok Sabha seats is underway in National Capital.
The seven parliamentary seats are witnessing a triangular contest between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the BJP and the Congress.
