Late Sushma Swaraj’s biggest contribution as External Affairs Minister was to take the Ministry to the common man, said veteran BJP leader Dr Murli Manohor Joshi paying his homage to the deceased leader. “She did not keep Ministry of External Affairs confined to foreign countries and policy alone, she brought the Ministry close to the common man,” Dr Joshi told reporters.

Recalling his close association over the decades, he said Late Sushma Swaraj still had many years to give to the country. “So, I am shocked that she is no more,” he said.

“She discharged her responsibilities very seriously. She faced many challenges and took them head on,” Dr Joshi said. Dr Joshi also said in 1970s after formation of Janata Party, Sushma Swaraj used to frequently interact and worked in close association with political stalwarts such as Late George Fernandes and Late Chandrasekhar.
