Trade unions strike enters 2nd day on Wednesday in Mah disrupting normal life

(UNI) The 48- hours long general strike called by ten central trade unions and as many number of federation of workers entered its second day on Wednesday disrupting public life, businesses and other commercial activities across the Marathwada region as well as in the Maharashtra state.
The strike was called to protest against central government anti-labour policies and labour reforms .

More than 14 crore employees including from organised and unorganised sector participated in the strike.
In Aurangabad district only , two lakhs employees protested by carrying out morcha,dharna at various places .

Employees from banks,state government employees,public sector,private sector ,transport services, industries,LIC,Insurance sector were affected across the state since Tuesday.

Striking employees demanded adequate recruitment, sufficient wage revision and old Pension Scheme for new employees.
The unions were also vehemently- opposing disinvestment, merger in banking and public sector .
However, the Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, which is affiliated to the ruling BJP is not participating in the strike.
