Goa Government has planned to celebrate International Yoga Day in the state on a grand scale as almost all government offices and primary health centres in the state are set to participate in the event.
The state function will be held at Taleigao Community Hall, Taleigao, near the city, from 0700 hrs to 0930 hrs in the presence of State Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. The theme for this year’s Yoga Day will be ‘Yoga for heart’.
Addressing a press conference at the office of Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik in the city on Wednesday, Goa Minister for Urban Develeopment Milind Naik said, ‘The Yoga Day function will be organized at all taluka level, graced by the respective MLA’s reprenting the constituency. Government departments like Police, Forest, Fire, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) etc will be performing Yoga at their own headquarters and offices.
Central AYUSH Ministry along with India Tourism, Goa Tourism, Provident Office, Planning and Statistics and all central government office staff members along with Art and Culture Department will perform at Sanskruti Bhavan Hall, Patto, in the city.
