Global Cleantech Expo-Odisha 2026: Odisha’s ambition to emerge as a green energy powerhouse has received a strong boost with the inauguration of the Global Cleantech Expo Odisha at the EDCO Exhibition Grounds in Bhubaneswar. The two-day conference was inaugurated by Shri Gokulanand Mallick, Minister (Independent Charge), MSME Department, Government of Odisha, who was the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, the Minister Shriyut Mallick stressed on the need to transition to clean energy to combat the effects of climate change.

He highlighted the government’s commitment to protect the environment through the ‘5J’ goals – water, forests, land, wildlife and people, which aim to ensure sustainable development along with environmental protection. The Minister mentioned that Odisha is actively supporting MSMEs through subsidies, credit guarantees and policy incentives to increase the adoption of clean energy. “We want to solarize every home,” he said, noting that around 5000 MSMEs are already involved in the clean energy ecosystem in the state.

The prestigious event witnessed the participation of over 200 companies representing over 20 countries including Australia, Germany, France and the United States, positioning Odisha as an attractive destination for clean energy innovation and investment. Bringing together industry leaders, policy makers, innovators and investors, the expo has emerged as the first-of-its-kind large-scale cleantech exhibition in Eastern India.

The conference began with a welcome address by Devi Prasad Das, Executive Director, NetZero Energy Transition Association (NETRA), followed by an informative keynote address by Amlan Kanthi Das, Senior Vice President, Operations & R&D, Luminous Power Technologies. The distinguished guests included Odisha Renewable Energy Department Agency CEO Syedat Biplab Keshari Pradhan, TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited CEO Arvind Singh, Gridco Limited Managing Director, IAS Dr. Satya Priya Rath and BJP State General Secretary Sarada Prasad Satapathy. Odisha Cleantech Association (OCTA) President and Gayatri Solar MD Prashant Panigrahi proposed the vote of thanks on the occasion.

Devi Prasad Das, Chief Advisor, Global Cleantech Expo-Odisha and Executive Director, NetZero Energy Transition Association (NETRA), said, “With the remarkable success of this event, Eastern India has firmly entered the global clean energy map. This platform promotes investment, partnerships and technology transfer for a sustainable future.” Leading clean energy companies like Satvik Green Energy, Navitas Solar, Novasis GreenEnergy, Australian Premium Solar, Gautam Solar, Pahal Solar, Eastman Auto & Power, Gallo Energy, JD Solar and Lattice Industries showcased their cutting-edge solutions across solar energy, battery storage, green hydrogen and electric mobility.

Similarly, Amlan Kanthi Das, Senior Vice President, Operations and R&D, Luminous Power Technologies (P) Limited said, “Odisha contributes 40-59% of India’s mineral resources, making it a strategic hub for Luminous to further its global leadership in energy storage. With 30 acres of land in Odisha and access to key resources, we are accelerating innovation in cutting-edge energy storage solutions.”

The Expo focused on Odisha’s ambitious energy goals, including a renewable target of 10 GW, advancements in battery storage, EVs, green hydrogen, and adoption of new technologies like tidal energy, agro PV, floating solar, and advanced BESS for grid modernization. The event not only highlighted Odisha’s growth but also connected the eastern Indian market including Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and neighboring states.

The event is expected to attract over 10,000 trade visitors from Odisha and neighbouring states, along with over 1,000 delegates to participate in the conference, CXO roundtable and Cleantech Excellence Awards. Special pavilions will showcase the latest in battery energy storage, EV and charging infrastructure, solar, green hydrogen, smart grids and academic research. High-impact activities on both days include the Clean Energy Leadership Conference, workshops for students and professionals, B2B networking sessions with global OEMs, startups, regulators and financiers, etc.

The Global Cleantech Expo Odisha is expected to promote investment and technology exchange and strengthen Odisha’s position as a hub for renewable energy generation and innovation in India.
