Manipal University Jaipur: The vibrant campus of Manipal University Jaipur came alive with energy and sporting spirit as it inaugurated the prestigious All India Inter-University Volleyball (Men) Tournament 2025–26. The national-level championship, scheduled from February 20 to 25, brings together 16 top university teams from across India, representing all four zones of the country.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of the President of MUJ, Dr. Niti Nipun Sharma, Pro-President Dr. Karunakar A. Kotegar, Registrar Dr. Amit Soni, and Dean Students Welfare, Dr. Madhura Yadav. The event commenced with a ceremonial welcome of the participating teams and officials, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting excellence in sports alongside academics.
President Dr. Niti Nipun Sharma delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging players to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. He emphasized that inter-university tournaments serve as a vital platform for young athletes to showcase their talent at the national level. Amid enthusiastic applause, he formally declared the tournament open.
The ceremony was further dignified by the presence of Dr. R. Mohana Krishnan, Observer from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and Dr. Vinod V. Thomas, Registrar (Evaluation), Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). Their presence underscored the national significance of the championship.
Under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities, sixteen universities are competing in the tournament, including Kurukshetra University; Guru Nanak Dev University; Panjab University; Lovely Professional University; SRM Institute of Science and Technology; University of Madras; University of Calicut; Bharathiar University; KIIT University; Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith; Lalit Narayan Mithila University; Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University; Lok Jagruti University; Parul University; Shri Khushal Das University; along with the host institution, Manipal University Jaipur.
With participation from reputed institutions nationwide, the championship promises intense competition and high-quality volleyball over the next six days. The tournament not only highlights athletic excellence but also fosters unity, cultural exchange, and camaraderie among students from diverse regions of India.
