IIM Bodh Gaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar, through the Bihar Prashasnik Sudhar Mission Society (BPSMS), to serve as the Academic and Knowledge Partner for the Chief Minister’s Fellowship Scheme. The scheme aims to bring 121 professionally trained young residents of Bihar to be fellows and contribute to policy formulation, administrative decision-making, and development planning across state, divisional, district, and municipal levels.
Under the agreement, IIM Bodh Gaya will design and deliver the full academic curriculum, selection support, classroom training, immersion modules, mentoring, and periodic assessments for Fellows. The Government of Bihar will coordinate deployment, administrative processes, and financial support. This collaboration directly advances the state’s vision of building a cadre of young governance professionals who can contribute to efficient service delivery, clearer policy execution, and innovation in public systems. These follows will work across District Magistrate’s office to CM’s office.
IIM Bodh Gaya has consistently delivered leadership and management programmes for Bihar Administrative Service and Bihar Police Service officers, including modules on administrative effectiveness, public leadership, decision-making, and citizen-centric service. These programmes have strengthened managerial competency across departments such as Water Resources, Transport, Planning, Panchayati Raj, and other specialized technical wings of the state government.
Speaking on the MoU, Director Dr. Vinita Sahay stated that the collaboration reflects IIM Bodh Gaya’s responsibility toward nation-building and its commitment to supporting Viksit Bharat and Viksit Bihar through professional management education. She emphasised that the Fellowship will equip young people with analytical skills, administrative insight, and leadership abilities needed to advance Bihar’s development priorities and improve governance outcomes. The Chief Minister’s Fellowship Scheme adds a significant milestone to the institute’s work in shaping capable, ethical, and service-oriented leaders for the public sector.
