Cyclone Ditwah to Reach Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Coast by Early Tomorrow

Cyclone Ditwah: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts in the wake of Cyclone Ditwah. The weather agency has predicted that Cyclone Ditwah is very likely to continue to move north-northwestwards and reach over southwest Bay of Bengal near North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts by early morning tomorrow.

According to the Met Department, while moving north-northwestwards, the cyclonic storm will be centred over the southwest Bay of Bengal within a minimum distance of 60 kilometres from the Tamil Nadu coastline by midnight tonight.

Meanwhile, IMD has forecast heavy rainfall, isolated extremely heavy rainfalls over Tamil Nadu till tomorrow. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to prevail over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema till Monday. The Met Department has advised fishermen not to venture into the coastal areas of Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and the south Andhra Pradesh coasts till Monday.
