New Delhi, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will go to Kuwait on a three days visit from tomorrow. Dr. Jaishankar will visit Kuwait at the invitation of Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh (Dr.) Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah.
This will be Dr. Jaishankar first visit to Kuwait as External Affairs Minister. During the visit, he will hold high level meetings and also address the Indian community in Kuwait. There are around one million Indians residing in Kuwait. India is amongst the largest trading partners of Kuwait and Kuwait is a major supplier of oil for India. The year 2021-22 marks the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kuwait.
In recent weeks, the Government of Kuwait has been in the forefront to ensure reliable supply of liquid medical oxygen to India to help in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
