Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Handicrafts Corporation Ltd., a State Government Organization with the brand name of “Utkalika” working under the administrative control of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Department, Government of Odisha. Director of Handicrafts of Odisha, Bhubaneswar and Utkalika are organizing a national level Handicraft Exhibition “Gandhi Shilpa Bazaar 2022” from 28/10/2022 to 06/11/2022 at Ekamra Haat Bhubaneswar.
The event is sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Handicraft artisans from Odisha, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Manipur, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir have participated in the Gandhi Shilpa Bazaar to display and sale their exclusive products.
Handicrafts items such as Wood Carving, Pattachitra, Tassar Painting, Silver Filigree, Appliqué, Terracotta, Dhokra Casting, Golden Grass, Paddy Craft, Lacquer Toys, Soft Toy, Horn Crafts, Seashell, Paper Machie, Wooden Toy, Embroidery, Palm Leaf Engraving, Tribal Jewellery, Bamboo, Brass and Bell Metal, Jute Craft, Hand Printed Textiles, Zari Goods, Tie and Dye, Kashmir Shawl, Rajasthani painting, Madur Kathi, Carpet, Iron Craft, Leather item, Zari and Zari goods painting are the major attraction of the Bazaar.
The objective of Gandhi Shilpa Bazaar is to provide marketing platform for the artisans and to display the richness and varieties of handicrafts and Handloom items.
With participation of 100 artisans, the event is expected to draw 70,000 visitors and customers. it is expected to generate a business of 100 Lakhs for the artisans.

Rita Sahu, Minister, HT&H inaugurated Gandhi Shilpa Bazaar this evening in the presence of Sri Ananta Narayan Jena, MLA, Bhubaneswar (Central), Dr. Arvind Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, HT&H Department, Sri Srikanta Prusty, Special Secretary, HT&H Department, Sri Shyamabhakta Mishra, Director of Handicrafts, Sri Ashok Kumar Hota, Sr. Asst. Director (HC), Sri Saroj Kumar Patel, Special Secretary, HT&H Deptt-cum-MD, Utkalika and other dignitaries.
