SpiceJet to Launch Seaplane Services

SpiceJet to Launch Seaplane: SpiceJet has announced plans to launch seaplane services in 2025, aiming to connect some of India’s most remote and scenic locations.

The announcement was made today by SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh during a demonstration seaplane flight from Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada to Srisailam Dam, an event attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu.

SpiceJet has played a key role in seaplane trials at multiple sites, providing essential engineering, technical, and logistical support to De Havilland. With rights to operate on 20 routes, including destinations like Lakshadweep, Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Shillong, the airline is preparing to expand connectivity as supporting infrastructure becomes operational.
