Yadagirigutta Temple Board: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the State government will establish the Yadagirigutta Temple Board to oversee the progress and development of Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple on Yadagirigutta in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
During a review meeting with temple officials at Yadagirigutta today, the Chief Minister called for swift action on pending land acquisitions crucial for temple development and instructing officials to allocate necessary funds. The Chief Minister also instructed authorities to take necessary steps toward forming temple board, modelled on the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of thorough planning for the board’s establishment, aiming to provide it with a governance structure comparable to that of the TTD. He directed officials to draft a special policy for cow protection in the temple’s Goshala, and encouraged the use of technology for enhanced care and monitoring.
Additionally, the Chief Minister urged the expedited completion of the gold plating for the Vimana Gopuram and instructed officials to finish these works before the upcoming Brahmotsavam festival. Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister along with his family offered prayers to Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy on the occasion of his birthday.
Ministers Konda Surekha, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Government Advisers Vem Narender Reddy and Srinivasa Raju, MLAs, Chief Secretary to the Government Shanti Kumari, Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority Vice Chairman Kishan Rao, District Collector Hanumantha Rao, and other officials participated in the review meeting.
Nearly a decade after Yadagirigutta was changed to Yadadri, the hill shrine is set to get back its old name. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed officials to restore the term Yadagirigutta in official communication as well as general usage from today itself. The name was changed to Yadadri in 2015 after the former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao accepted it on the suggestion of Srimannarayana Chinna Jeer Swamy. Name of the district where the hill shrine is located was named Yadadri Bhongir.
