Vedanta Red Mud Pond Issue: Bhawanipatna MLA Sagar Das is furious over the collapsed of red mud pond of Vedanta Company in Lanjigarh, Odisha. On last Sunday, Vedanta Alumna Company’s red mud pond collapsed and as a result, hundreds of acres of land in the local area have been covered with poisoned red water. At the same time, this red water has mixed with the nearby river and poisoned it.

After receiving this news yesterday, local Congress MLA Sagar Das went to the affected area and assessed the damage. He also understood the problems of local people. However, while he was talking to them, everyone spoke against Vedanta officials and their misbehaving nature. They are being threatened if they make any complaint against Vedanta.

Later, MLA Sagar Das told to the media that Vedanta Company has been asked to give maximum compensation to the affected people within seven days. Otherwise, he has threatened that there will be a strike against Vedanta Plant in near future. However, no response could be received from Vedanta Company regarding this.
