Jhulana Utsav Celebrations: The fourth and last day of Jhulana Utsav celebrations at Late Padmashri Guru Dr. Gangadhar Pradhan’s Konark Natya Mandap was a resounding success, with esteemed guests and mesmerizing cultural performances leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
The evening began with warm welcomes and inspiring addresses by distinguished guests. Dr. Rosalin Patashani Mishra, Founder/President of “Parichaya Foundation” and Parichaya Magazine, Bhubaneswar, Shri Lakshmikant Palit, Eminent Vocalist & Music Director, Bhubaneswar, Shri Biranchi Narayan Mishra, Rtd. Assistant Director, Tourism Department, Bhubaneswar and Smt. Kabita Dwivedi, Eminent Odissi Dancer, New Delhi were presented.
Their words of wisdom and encouragement set the tone for the cultural program that followed. Odissi dance performance by Jagjit Das, who presented “Odishi Abhinaya” and portrayed the emotions of Ma Yashoda’s distress as she awaited Krishna’s return. Smt.Madhura Deshpande from Pune enthralled the audience with her Kathak performance, showcasing technical finesse and emotional depth.
last iteam was Bharatnatyam duet by Shri Raja Dutta and Smt. Chaity Ghosh from Kolkata was a stunning portrayal of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, as described in Jayadeva’s “Geeta Govinda”. The cultural program concluded with a standing ovation, marking a successful evening of Jhulana Utsav celebrations.
