IND vs ENG: Floodlight Failure Disrupts Match at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack

IND vs ENG

IND vs ENG:  Once again, Barabati Stadium has faced embarrassment. The India-England match being played at Barabati Stadium today was disrupted, forcing the players to return to the pavilion without being able to continue playing. Meanwhile, thousands of spectators who had come to watch the match were left disappointed. Barabati has let them down today.

According to reports, a floodlight failure in the stadium caused difficulties for the batters while batting. As a result, they complained to the umpires, stating that they could not continue playing under such lighting conditions. Consequently, the umpires decided to suspend the game temporarily. All the players left the field and returned to the pavilion.

Earlier in the match, England won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring a total of 304 runs. In response, India’s openers, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, started the innings. Rohit Sharma played well, and India reached 48 runs in 6 overs. However, due to poor lighting, Rohit Sharma raised concerns, leading to the suspension of the game. After a temporary halt, the match has now resumed.

After a gap of five years, Barabati Stadium was hosting an international match. However, due to the poor preparations by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), the stadium has once again brought international embarrassment.
