BHUBANESWAR: Among the numerous congratulatory messages pouring in for the newly sworn in American President and Vice President Joe Biden-Kamala Harris, Puri-based internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik’s wish has won widespread appreciation.
Sudarsan has sculpted Biden and Harris against a background of the US flag and the US Capitol Building in the foreground with his ‘Congratulation’ scripted on it.
“A historic moment. Best wishes to USA President-elect @JoeBiden and Vice President-elect @KamalaHarris. My SandArt at Puri beach in india,” the immensely popular artist posted on social media along with photos of his art on the shores of the Bay of Bengal in Puri.
His post has gone viral with large number of people appreciating his apt art.
A Padma Shri awardee, Sudarsan has represented India in 60 international sand sculpture championships and festivals all around the world and won 27 championship prizes for the country.
He was among the 15 top sand artists selected from across the world to participate in the 2019 Revere Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival in Boston, Massachusetts.
He has also bagged various top awards like National Tourism Award and People of the Year Award by Limca Book,
He has set the Guinness World Record for creating World’s Tallest Sand Castle.
