42 lakh children inoculated on 1st day of Covid vaccination

New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 146 crore 61 lakh mark. Out of the total vaccination, more than 85 crore 23 lakh vaccine doses have been given as first dose while over 61 crore 37 lakh were given as second dose.

Union Health Ministry said that more than 90 lakh vaccine doses were administered yesterday, out of which nearly 42 lakh doses were administered to children between 15 and 18 years of age. We spoke to Dr N K Arora, Chairman of Covid Working Group about vaccination among 15 to 18 age bracket.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country has taken an important step forward in protecting the youth against COVID-19. In a tweet, Mr Modi congratulated all the youth between the age group of 15 to 18 who got vaccinated. Prime Minister congratulated their parents as well and urged more youngsters to get vaccinated in the coming days.
