AAP leader Bhagwant Mann meets Punjab Governor to stake claim to form govt in Punjab

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) leader Bhagwant Mann today met Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit and staked claim to form a government in Punjab. The 48-year-old comedian turned politician was elected leader of the AAP legislature party at a meeting held at Mohali near Chandigarh last evening.

AAP has won 92 seats in the 117 member Punjab Assembly. After meeting Governor outside the Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh, Bhagwant Mann said, the swearing-in ceremony will be held at Khatkar Kalan, the native village of Bhagat Singh at 12.30 pm on March 16.
