Acid Attacks: An awareness programme on legal services to victims of acid attacks, relevant provisions of penal laws and victim compensation has been held under the supervision of Banpur Taluk Legal Service Committee Chairman cum Senior Civil Judge Amaresh Mohapatra on Monday at Banpur Rural Women’s Higher Secondary School.
Judge Mr. Mohapatra apprised the students about the legal aspects of the programme, treatment options for victims, financial assistance and various legal benefits available to acid attack victims from NALSA. Banpur JMFC Snataki Dash also participated in the programme and made the students aware.
Principal Sarbeswar Sarangi presided over the programme while Front Office Retainer Padmaja Patnaik, Banpur Bar Association Secretary Ranjan Kumar Bedamata, Former Secretary Jaganath Bhola, advocate Jagdish Patnaik and Sitaram Agrawal participated and presented their views.
