New Delhi, The government has extended the due date of furnishing of Income Tax Returns for the Assessment Year 2021-22, for individuals by two months from 31st July to 30th September, 2021.
Finance Minstry said that the decision to extend timelines for compliances under the Income-tax Act was taken in light of COVID-19 pandemic.
The government has also extended the due date of Income Tax Returns filing for companies for Assessment Year 2021-2022 from 31st October to 30th November. In addition to it, the due date of furnishing of belated or revised Return of Income for the Assessment Year 2021-22, which is 31st December has been extended to 31st January, 2022.
The Ministry said that the deadline for issuing Form- 16 by employers to employees has also been extended by a month till 15th of July this year. The due date of furnishing of Report of Audit for the Previous Year 2020-21 was extended to 31st October this year from 30th September.
