India’s Metro Network: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹12,200 crore in Delhi, focusing on enhancing regional connectivity and improving urban mobility. During the event, PM Modi also rode the Namo Bharat Train, traveling from Sahibabad Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Station to New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi hailed the projects as a transformative gift for Delhi-NCR, emphasizing the expansion of India’s urban mobility and the future of public transport. Reflecting on his Namo Bharat Train ride, he highlighted its potential to reduce traffic on the Delhi-Meerut route and congratulated the region’s residents on these advancements.
The Prime Minister highlighted India’s remarkable rise to becoming the third-largest metro network globally. He pointed out the expansion of the Delhi Metro with the inauguration of two new routes, including the Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor, which strengthens connectivity between Delhi and Haryana’s industrial hubs.
PM Modi noted the government’s consistent focus on infrastructure, citing a sixfold increase in spending from ₹2 lakh crore a decade ago to over ₹11 lakh crore today. He outlined key projects such as expressways, industrial corridors, and a multi-modal logistics hub in Delhi-NCR, which are driving economic growth and creating youth employment opportunities.
On healthcare, the Prime Minister praised the global recognition of AYUSH and Ayurveda systems, which have expanded to 100+ countries. He inaugurated the second phase of the All India Institute of Ayurveda and laid the foundation stone for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Delhi, emphasizing India’s vision to become a global health and wellness leader.
PM Modi concluded by envisioning “Heal in India” as a complement to the “Make in India” initiative, supported by a dedicated AYUSH visa for foreign nationals. He expressed confidence in these efforts elevating Delhi to new heights of development.
