INS Tushil Arrives at Dakar, Senegal

INS Tushil: Indian Navy’s state-of-the-art stealth frigate, INS Tushil, arrived at the Port of Dakar, Senegal, on January 3, 2025, as part of its ongoing operational deployment. The visit aims to deepen bilateral defence relations and foster collaboration between the Indian and Senegalese navies.

Under the command of Captain Peter Varghese, INS Tushil will engage in military and cultural activities, including interactions with Senegalese military and government officials. The frigate will showcase its advanced indigenous weaponry and conduct joint training sessions, including a yoga demonstration for local enthusiasts and a cultural exchange onboard.

The deployment will conclude with a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) and joint patrol with the Senegalese Navy in the waters off West Africa, focusing on maritime cooperation, regional security, and interoperability.

This visit underscores India’s commitment to strengthening ties with Senegal and enhancing defence collaboration, offering mutual learning opportunities and exploring new avenues of partnership.
