Khurda Road Division: In alignment with the nationwide Fit India Movement, Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway organised a special Cyclothon-2025 under the banner of “Sundays On Cycle”. This initiative is aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being and environmental awareness among railway employees and the wider community.
To aware the FIT INDIA initiatives, East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECoRSA), Khurda Road Division in a Cyclothon from Railway Stadium to the Entrance Gate of IIT Bhubaneswar, Argul, and returned back covering a distance of 10 kilometers.
The occasion has been graced by Divisional Railway Manager Shri Alok Tripathi, who encouraged the participants and officially flagged off the cycling drive. His presence inspired employees and their families to embrace fitness and sustainability in their daily lives.
Organized under the campaign slogan “Fitness Ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz”, the event highlights the importance of incorporating regular physical activity into our routines, as advocated by the Fit India Movement.
Cycling is a simple yet powerful form of exercise, offering multiple health benefits such as Increased cardiovascular fitness, Improved posture and coordination, Enhanced muscle strength and flexibility, Strengthened bones and joint mobility, Reduced body fat and stress levels and Prevention and management of lifestyle diseases.
All the Branch Officers of Khurda Road Division, staff members and sports personnel of the Khurda Road Division were participated in large numbers and aware common people on FIT INDIA. Special efforts were made to motivate railway employees along with their families to remain fit thorough this health initiative.
The “Sundays On Cycle” event not only promotes a healthy and active lifestyle but also sends a strong message of environmental consciousness, aligning with Indian Railways’ broader goals of sustainability and community welfare.
Team ECoRSA, Khurda Road led by its officials including General Secretary and Sports Officer cum Sr Divisional Commercial Manager Shri Anil Kumar S coordinated this programme.
