Master Athletics Championships: The 30th Inter-District Masters Athletic Championship concluded successfully at the SAI Stadium in Kokrajhar after a four days event. The four-day event, which began on December 27, saw participation from over 1,200 senior athletes representing 32 sports districts across Assam.
Moranhat sports districts received the 1st place in Overall Best Teams followed by Silapathar and Dibrugarh in second and third positions, respectively. In the Best Men’s Teams, Dibrugarh emerged as champions, with Silapathar and Moranhat taking the second and third places.
In the Best Women’s Teams, Moranhat claimed the top honor, while Silapathar and Kamrup Metro secured the second and third spots. In Best March Past Teams, host team, Kokrajhar, won first place, with Digboi and Kamrup Metro finishing second and third. The championship concluded with a grand ceremony where flags of the Assam Masters Athletic Association and the organizing committee were lowered.
Kokrajhar MLA Lawrence Islary, Chairperson of the organizing committee, along with Kabiranjan Brahma, Vice President of the Assam Olympic Association, and Maguram Balary, Working President of the Assam Masters Athletic Association, presented trophies and medals to the winners.
