Rajiv Kumar to be new Chief Election Commissioner of India

New Delhi : Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar will be the new Chief Election Commissioner of India. President Ram Nath Kovind has cleared his appointment. In a tweet, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju informed that Mr. Kumar, the senior most Election Commissioner, will assume the charge of office of CEC with effect from 15th of this month.

He will replace incumbent Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra who will be demitting the office on 14th of this month.
