(UNI) Union Law Minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday said a large section of people in the country want a grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya and they also want that the hearing in the Supreme Court on the case should be completed at the earliest.
“Desh ki janta ka apeksha yeh bhi hae ki Ram Janmaboomi ke mamle ka nishpadan jald se jald ho jae (People also want that like in many other cases urgent hearing takes place, even on Ram Janmabhooi case the process of hearing and final judgement should be expedited),” Mr Prasad told reporters – a day after it was made clear that the Supreme Court will not able to conduct its scheduled hearing on the case on Tuesday, January 29, as one of the judges would be unavailable.
This is for the third time in recent weeks that the hearing on the Ram Mandir issue has been deferred.
The Union Minister said that the government and the ruling party have always said that ‘constitutional’ road map should be followed for the construction of a grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
“People have said there should be a grand Ram Temple, from our side in the BJP and the Union government party chief (Amit Shah) and Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) have said that the solution should be through a constitutional mechanism only,” he said.
