Al-Qaeda group in Mali on Monday claimed responsibility for an attack that killed 10 Chadian UN peacekeepers and injured 25. The Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen group launched the attack to retaliate Chadian President Idriss Deby’s resumption of diplomatic links with Israel, the group said in statement. A pipeline explosion in central Mexico has so far left 85 people dead, Health Minister Jorge Alcocer said on Sunday. The minister reported the updated death toll from the Friday blast at a press conference, adding that an additional 58 people were hospitalized. Earlier reports said the explosion injured more than 80 other people. At least 18 people were killed and 27 others sustained injuries after a Taliban car bomb explosion hit an Afghan Special Forces’ station in Maidan Shar, capital of Wardak province on Monday, a local official said. The blast occurred roughly at 0840 hrs in the city at the main gate of the facility.
