India vs England Match: An international cricket match between India and England is set to take place at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on February 9th. After a gap of two years, such a prestigious match is being hosted at the Barabati Stadium.
Preparations for the event are in full swing at the stadium. Today, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited Barabati Stadium to review the preparations. He expressed satisfaction after inspecting the ongoing work. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also picked up a bat and played cricket at the stadium, which was met with applause from the present Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) officials and other dignitaries.
During the event, the Chief Minister unveiled the match’s theme song, “Swagat… Suswagat,” composed by renowned music director Premananda.
Following the review and inspection, the Chief Minister addressed the media, stating that hosting an international cricket match at Barabati Stadium is a matter of pride. He acknowledged the efforts of all OCA officials and teams, the district and state administrations, and particularly Sports Minister Surya Banshi Suraj, under whose supervision the preparations are being carried out. He emphasized that this event is both a challenge and an honor for the government. After two years, this opportunity has come to Odisha, and the entire team is working hard to ensure a successful event. He expressed confidence that the successful hosting of the match will not only bring joy to India but also to the world.
Accompanying the Chief Minister at the event were Sports and Youth Services Minister Surya Banshi Suraj, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Advocate General Pitambar Acharya, Anugul MLA and OCA Apex Council Member Pratap Chandra Pradhan, Badamba MLA Vijay Kumar Dalabehera, Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethy, Banki MLA Devi Ranjan Tripathy, former MLA Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mahapatra, and OCA Secretary Sanjay Behera, among others.
