Jharkhand government announces closure of all educational institutions 

New Delhi: Jharkhand government has imposed several restrictions from today in the wake of fast-spreading COVID-19 cases in the state. The total number of active COVID-19 cases has surpassed four thousand mark across the State. Active COVID-19 cases have multiplied by 13 times in last 20 days.

Chairing the meeting of Disaster Management Authority over present Covid situation in the state, Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced closure of all schools, educational institutions, coaching institutes, private tuitions, stadiums, gymnasiums, salons, spas, swimming pools, zoos, parks, and public places from today till 15th of this month.

All academic activities including examinations in schools, colleges, and universities have been stalled till January 15. Only administrative activities have been permitted with 50 percent of employees at a time. Private and government offices will be allowed to function with up to 50 percent strength.

Government and private offices have been asked to encourage work from home, while biometric attendance has been discontinued. The order further states that medical stores, restaurants and bars, cinema halls, and theaters will be allowed to function with up to 50 percent capacity till their usual timings while all other shops will be closed after 8 pm.
