Islamabad, Nov 9 (UNI) Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Saturday slammed Indian Supreme Court’s verdict on Babri Masjid (Mosque) saying the judgement reflects “bigoted ideology of Modi regime”.
According to Radio Pakistan, the minister also expressed surprise as to why did the day of opening of Kartarpur Corridor was chosen by the Indian Apex Court for the verdict in Babri Mosque case.
The Supreme Court in its verdict paved the way for the construction of a Ram Temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya and directed the Centre to allot a five-acre alternate plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque.
Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said, “the verdict has blemished India’s secular face and further tells that its apex court is not independent.”
“While Pakistan is guaranting the rights of minorities by opening the Kartarpur corridor, India on the other hand is subjecting its minorities including Muslims to oppression. I regret that RSS ideology has slowly engulfed India,” Awan said.
Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry backed Awan’s claims.
