Politics is made to appear so that it looks like a person standing naked but hiding behind a crystal ball that requires smart gazers to decipher what is that. Now that the inner sides of politics , in which, all of us are involved in one way the other, have become evident through the eyes of media, so any attempt to don the garb of a sage is meaningless.
But, making politics by demeaning someone personally, either family of health or any such allusion unsavory in taste which reveals the uncivil traits of politics.
Since last few months there was a constant and consorted effort by a few individuals in political parties to circulate a notion about the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s health conditions and to say that he is not physically fit and so on. What is worse is that such news are being made as templates for his political longevity. Such tendencies are often described as attempts at killing the honourable or making the fit as sick.
And that was done by one of the most trusted lieutenants of Naveen Patnaik who has jumped sides. Not he alone even some in other camps also took pleasure in such glib talks.
Then one video clip was found going viral in the social media where Naveen Patnaik can be seen doing the morning work-outs. Notwithstanding the real intent behind such a posting by any body, but in minutes time the clip kicked off a dust of fear and enviousness among his critics and specifically among some who has nurtured an overriding ambition to see him relinquishing his high position. Such tricks or electoral stunts during elections are played but it should not be so personal to be dubbed as deplorable in taste.
Then the topic gets a huge space in prime time debates in few television channels inviting national attention. Not that alone, even his legendary father late Biju Patnik was sometime back described as a person who had remained dependent on the sympathy of a certain political family ! Can politics be more loathsome .
All said and done, but the people on the ground are well aware of where politics is heading at. Such filthy sarcasm never ever go well with the mass who has more things to be worried about than getting involved in such ludicrous stuff to accelerate political gains.
